It was actually the first time I'd ever been to Weymouth, let alone shooting a wedding there. Although I live in the Bournemouth area it hadn't been a place I have visited yet. The wedding of Kate & Stuart brought me to the quaint little town of Weymouth on the south coast.
The week leading up to the wedding we saw temperatures hit 30+ in the south but as the weather goes it decided to take a turn for the worse on the Friday before their big day.
The morning came of the wedding and oddly the skies were blue and it was mildy warm still, Just what I wanted to see. St Andrews Church was the destination for the ceremony and I have to say it was one of the prettiest churches I've seen. The gardener looked like he was having a field day with the array of colour out the front and it gave a beautiful walk way up to the entrance to the church.
Coming out of the ceremony and jumping in to the cars is when the wind picked up and the skies began to grey. We headed up to Bowleaze Cove to get some shots on the top of the hill looking over the Weymouth bay. In a weird way it gave the video such a dramatic look which I really love, Especially with the wind running through the veil and and with everything in slow motion it looked so cinematic.
Our second location for some shots was Nothe Fort to the south side of Weymouth and with the weather still not great we had the area pretty much to ourselves. The medieval walls and structures looked incredible and gave such a scenic back drop for the intimate shoot of Kate & Stuart.
Thank you to Kate & Stuart for having me along to your day, it was so great and you guys were so easy to work with. I wish you all the best for the future and can't wait to send you your final, full wedding edit!
